The Good Funeral Guide is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to support, empower and represent the interests of dying and bereaved people living in the UK. They aren’t interested in selling you anything. They offer advice, information, and empowerment – they want you to feel in control. They can help if you need to organise a funeral now, or if you are thinking about making plans for the future, for yourself or for someone else who is approaching the end of their life. They also offer information and suggestions if you are doing research on behalf of a friend or family member who has been bereaved.

The Good Funeral Guide is a not-for-profit social enterprise company. Founded in 2008 and incorporated as a CIC in 2011, they are wholly independent of the funeral industry. The Good Funeral Guide is challenging the status quo and holds strong views about the importance of funerals and the transformative power that a truly personal funeral ceremony can have.
